The firm’s admiralty practice has been handling court cases since the firm was first established and consequently has a wide experience in all branches of admiralty law and proceedings, both in rem and in personal. A considerable number of the leading and often cited cases in admiralty were handled by this department. The department routinely prosecutes, defends and advises upon every type of admiralty claim including collision and salvage claims, bill of lading and charter party disputes and cargo claims on behalf of banks, P & I clubs, insurance companies (hull and machinery) and ship owners. The department also acts on behalf of banks in mortgage enforcement actions.
